Lake sturgeon:
Length: 91 to 152 cm (three to five feet)
Weight: 4.5 to 36 kg (10 to 80 pounds)
Coloring: Olive brown to grey on back and sides, with white belly
Common names: Fresh water sturgeon, smoothback, rock sturgeon, bony sturgeon
Habitat: Lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie and Ontario
Large Mouth Bass:
The Ontario record for largemouth bass is: 9.84 lbs-World Record is 22lbs!
Life expectancy: 10-16 years
Habitat:: The Largemouth bass lives in waters where aquatic vegetation
abounds. It likes slow lakes and rivers

Small Mouth Bass
Common Names: smallmouth bass, smallmouth black bass, black bass, and brown bass
Life Expectancy: Know to live up to 15 years
Predators: yellow perch, catfishes, white suckers, turtles, and chain pickerel.
Habitat: Smallmouth bass prefer clear, quiet waters with gravel, rubble, or rocky bottoms
CatFish
There are over 2000 species of catfish
Most common in big rivers and streams. Prefers some current, and deep water
Life Expectancy: Average of 15 to 20 years
Considered one of the best-eating freshwater fish
Crappie
Common Names: Paper mouth, goggleye, bridge perch and speckled perch
World Record: 6lbs
Like the Bass, They are also members of the sunfish family
Life Expectancy: can live 8-10 years
Carp
The Carp originated in Asia
Types of Carp:King Carp or Common Carp, Mirror Carp, Wild Carp
Carp Can weigh up to 70lbs!
Life Expectancy: Up to 40 years
Northern Pike
Ontario record for northern pike is: 42.12 lbs.
Spawns in the spring immediately after the ice melts
Will eat any living vertebrate that is small enough to swallow

Walleye

In southern Ontario, few fish live more than 10 to 12 years. but up to 20 years
They prefer depths of 10 to 30 feet, can sometimes be down 100 feet
Yellow Perch is their favourite food

The yellow perch is a favourite sport fish of children
It is an active feeder during the whole year and can be angled year round

The Muskellunge is a member of the northern pike family
The muskie can withstand water temperatures up to 90 degrees F
"The Snakehead Fish"
The size of the snakehead species differs greatly. "Dwarf snakeheads" like Channa gachua grow to 10 inches (25 cm). Most snakeheads grow up to 2 or 3 feet (60–90 cm). Two species (Channa marulius and Channa micropeltes) can reach a length of more than 1 meter and a weight of more than 6 kg.
Snakeheads are thrust-feeders which consume plankton, aquatic insects, and mollusks when small. When adult, they mostly feed on other fish such as carp, or on frogs. In rare cases small mammals such as rats are taken.
The giant snakehead (Channa micropeltes) is native throughout Asia, and is the most aggressive snakehead. They can grow to around 1 meter in length.
