Here is the responce to my complaint about the 50 point derby
Dear Sir:
Thank you for bringing your concerns about the recent Stoney Creek Lion’s Club fishing derby at Fifty Point to our attention.
Let me say that we take deep exception to your suggestion that the event was a “scam” and that organizers were involved somehow in “feeding” the pond to ensure tagged fish were not caught.
Here are the facts of the matter:
The derby is an attempt by hard-working and dedicated community service club members to create an event that is family-oriented, promotes the sport of fishing, allows the community to come together for a day of fun and exercise in the outdoors, and raises money for the good work members do in their community. Hamilton Conservation Authority assists in the event because we support all of the above principles.
Lion’s Club Derby Organizer Nick Eveley reports 100 fish were caught during the derby.
Mr. Eveley was at the derby and personally interviewed fishers in attendance to determine how his club could improve the event for next year. He did not receive one complaint during that process. The only suggestion from the public was to make hot chocolate available next year for those who would want it.
Hamilton Conservation Authority staff at Fifty Point (and, indeed, at all HCA facilities) have never and WILL NEVER “feed” a pond to artificially affect fishing. Be advised we will not accept such accusations lightly.
Tagged fish were introduced to the pond 14 days ahead of the derby, as required by the Ministry of Natural Resources.
The tagged fish could have been eaten by cormorants, caught before the derby and not turned in, or may still be in the pond.
As far as the Hamilton Conservation Authority is concerned, your complaint is a non-issue and this information more than adequately addresses it.
If you have further comments or questions, do not hesitate to contact the undersigned. You might also wish to contact Mr. Eveley at nick.eveley@sympatico.ca

My Responce to their responce ;D
Thank you for replying to my email with the political bullcrap I knew I would get back , further more proving my point .
"Lion’s Club Derby Organizer Nick Eveley reports 100 fish were caught during the derby"
That is very strange because I and my group were fishing right infront of the building were all catches were to be reported and we made it a point to watch what was caught and brought to the weight in station ,, 10 fish at the most .
"As far as the Hamilton Conservation Authority is concerned, your complaint is a non-issue and this information more than adequately addresses it."
Of course you would treat ANY complaint as a NON-ISSUE that is to be expected
"Hamilton Conservation Authority staff at Fifty Point (and, indeed, at all HCA facilities) have never and WILL NEVER “feed” a pond to artificially affect fishing. Be advised we will not accept such accusations lightly."
hmmmm maybe you should tell the park staff to keep thier mouths shut on the "feeding" issue then.
"Let me say that we take deep exception to your suggestion that the event was a “scam” and that organizers were involved somehow in “feeding” the pond to ensure tagged fish were not caught."
You can take all the exception to me comments you want , it is MY opinion and the opinion of those in my group and our opinions have been posted on our personal web site and other open fishing forums we are members of
Have a nice day

It completely amazes me that they would act like that. Without even looking into it. It is a stocked pond so they do feed these fish but to say that they dont then there would be "thousands" of dead fish
