At one time Lake Erie had the best ice fishing in canada (my opinion) when I was a teen growing up along lake erie (morgans point) we would spend a day out on the ice and catch anywhere from 75 to 100 perch a day (best eating fish EVER ) now you would be lucky to get 10 on a real good day , and no it is not because of anglers like me who took that many a day ice fishing .That wouldnt even be a drop in the bucket , but about 7 years ago if you would have gone to Port Maitland and see the commercial fishing boats come in from a day on the lake you would know why the numbers of perch have fallen over the years .. the "MNR" says the perch numbers are rising again thanks to controlled fishing and daily limits , not that i ever believe anything the MNR says but in this case I will keep my fingers crossed and hope they are right

Geeze!...I didnt think there was that much water in that lake1....When I was a kid I remember diving in and lawn-darting into a bottom of 3 feet of muck! Was lucky a fellow pulled me out, or you wouldnt be reading my dribble today!....
